Politically-Incorrect Random Comments

I don't get Donald Trump, nor do I get why anyone can see him as President. While I understand he knows how to make money, he doesn't play well with others. It occurs to me that playing well with others is what's missing from state, federal, and world politics. It also occurs to me the people staunchly in his quadrant worship money more than anything else.

I don't get how people can expound Christian values and then refuse to provide funding to help people. "The Lord helps those who help themselves" only goes so far."

I also don't get how a group of people can be anti sex education, anti free condoms, anti-abortion (hey, I don't like abortion either, however . . . ),  then be anti women's health, anti WIC, anti free lunch, and in all other ways anti helping people with their children.

I don't get the current trend that seems to allow only one cause. A person on Fb wrote about a particular animal crisis.  The friend replied in shouting capitals (I got that from Fifty Shades), "How can you support the plight of the _________ when children in ________ don't have a hot lunch." I believe most people can be and are sympathetic to more than one cause, and those who are able very likely fund more than one cause as well. And there is always United Way, which supports a variety of excellent causes.

I don't get that if I don't agree with you, I am, by definition, wrong, cursed, devilish, and very likely a Democrat.

I don't get how people can continually defame our duly elected president, going so far as to spread vicious lies and rumors. Vote at the polls, people. Then accept the consequences. I don't mean to imply that constructive criticism shouldn't happen, just not outright slander and lies. Grow up.

I admit to voting for Bush (hey, I was born in North Dakota and am therefore genetically republican—small r intentional). When he fell out of favor with me, I reregistered as an Independent, realizing that the republican party had moved far afield from what I erroneously believed were their core beliefs.  I didn't, however, bad mouth the man. Nor did I forward unsubstantiated chain letters or emails.

We are in this together. Let's act like caring adults and settle our differences like ladies and gentlemen.

Feel free to politely disagree. Or you could even agree with some of my points. (Sorry if I offended you. That isn't my intent.)

Very well-put. I especially agree with the parts about according respect due to the office of president, and acting like ladies and gentlemen. And I applaud your decision to change your registration when your former party abandoned their previous values. I am apalled at the culture of divisiveness that has been fanned into flame by the Republican party. It scares me that among that group might be our next president.

Thank you for the comment.
I wish I believed that the Democrats weren't equally divisive as well.😟

I agree that trump isn't presidential material, however my Christian views disagree with some of the comments you made. Planned Parenthood is the world's worst evil and the most dishonest organization around. Yes, we need to feed and help poor people , but there is a correct way to do it

I am happy that you are happy in your location. l live in South Georgia (Tallahassee) with lots of trees. During the September Hurricane that was supposed to be a #one, two maple trees were uprooted with one falling across my driveway and the other that crashed into my deck and four places on my roof. This tree nearly fell into my living room. I have recently had my deck rebuilt and my roof repaired. There was a long waiting time because many other people were in the same trouble. There had not been a hurricane here for 30 years. I still miss being near the ocean in Miami; however, I know things are not the same there now. Tallahassee is like the old South. MARCH is the prettiest month when Spring comes alive, but from November through January there are too many leaves on the ground, but it is a friendly place. In most every store you go into you will see someone you know. Again, I am happy, if you are happy with your new location. It does look lovely.
